I boated close to shore from the southern half of Zone 7, through Zone 8, and across the north-east side of Zone 9. The lake was especially calm, and the sun was out so that I could easily see to the bottom. The shallow lake bottom along this section of the shoreline is very narrow and very rocky, hence there is not much room, or the appropriate substrate for aquatic plant growth. As a result, there was not much to see - primarily some lilies, floating burr reed, floating pond weed. There were no suspicious or worrisome plants.
