This afternoon, I paddled across Zone 2. Overall, all looked good with no immediate concerns

The majority of the shoreward section of Zone 2 features a sandy, shallow bottom with relatively sparse aquatic vegetation. Native

plants observed included purple bladderwort, native elodea, floating bur-reed, pickerelweed, water lilies, pipewort, and watershield. A noteworthy observation was the widespread presence of filamentous green algae forming suspended masses just above the lake bottom.
