an aluminum rowboat works well for AIS (depending on how far you want to row!). I am able to bring all the field guides, identification tools, grabber, snacks and water for my patrol of zone 13. A great workout and fantastic day on the lake. Happy to report that I saw no signs of any invasives. Tim L
