fascinating how localized some plants are. Most all the main lakeside of the patrol showed off only some grasses and the occasional lillypad and shields but on the south cove of Walker Island i couldn't stop finding bladderwort. Floating bits but mostly all attached to the bottom. I had to look closely to makesure there wasn't anything more but it seems to have taken over the whole area. The beaver dam behind the island also prevented me from circumnavigating the island this time also. ...

Perfect Day to patrol. Snapped a shot of the beaver dam on the south side of Picnic Island Cove. We tried our double kayak this time (twice as many eyes!). Very sparse plant cover out on the points but still packed with the usual suspects and abundant algae back in the coves. There was one exotic find however....we ran into Maria coming up from the south👍. Strava recorded our southerly coast path but not the last part across the rocks and island at the front of Picnic Island Cove and...

Only coves have some remaining growth from earlier patrols but very reassuring to see some new and deeper parts of the littoral zone due...
